Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WE LOVE COPY LTD collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you visit welovetocode.tech (the “Site”) or book a live 1:1 tutoring, mentoring or consultancy Session (“Session”) through it. It should be read alongside our Terms of Use.

1. Who We Are

WE LOVE COPY LTD is the data controller responsible for your personal data. We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17053828, with our registered office at Suite 17, Dennis House, 4 Hawley Road, Hinckley, Leicestershire, United Kingdom, LE10 0PR.
We have not appointed a formal Data Protection Officer. For any question about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].

2. The Personal Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:
Category of data What it includes Why we use it
Account and booking data Name, email address, and any details you give us when booking a Session (e.g. topic, technical goals, or project questions). To create and manage your booking, and to match you with an appropriate Tutor.
Payment data Billing name and address, and payment confirmation. Card and full payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers ourselves. To take payment for Sessions and Bundles.
Session data The Platform you use to join a Session (e.g. Zoom, Teams), and any messages you send us about a Session. To deliver the Session and resolve any issues with it.
Communications Emails or messages you send to [email protected], and our replies. To respond to enquiries, bookings, and complaints.
Technical and usage data IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited on the Site, usually collected via cookies. To operate, secure, and improve the Site, and to measure marketing performance.
We do not collect any special category data (such as health or racial/ethnic data) as part of the normal booking process. Please do not share special category data with us or a Tutor unless it is directly relevant and necessary to a Session (for example, mentioning a specific accessibility need).

3. Our Lawful Basis for Using Your Data

  • Performance of a contract — to take bookings, process payment, and deliver Sessions.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the Site secure, understand how it is used, and improve our service, in each case balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and any marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Legal obligation — to keep financial records for tax and accounting purposes.

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We share personal data only where necessary, with:
  • Tutors, so that your booked Session can be delivered — typically your first name and the topic or goal you have provided.
  • Payment processors, to take and process payment securely.
  • Video-calling Platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, FaceTime), as the means by which a Session is delivered. Each Platform is a separate data controller for its own processing — please review its own privacy policy.
  • IT, hosting, email, and analytics providers who support the operation of the Site, acting under contract on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement, where we are required to by law.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. International Transfers

Some of our Tutors and support staff are based outside the UK, including in Vietnam. Where personal data is transferred to a country that does not have UK “adequacy” status, we put appropriate safeguards in place before the transfer takes place — typically the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — to ensure your data continues to receive a level of protection equivalent to that provided under UK law. You can request further information about these safeguards by contacting [email protected].

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep booking and payment records for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, and in any event for at least 6 years after your last Session to meet our accounting and tax obligations. We delete or anonymise personal data once it is no longer needed, unless we are required to keep it for longer by law.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the Site and, where you consent, analytics and marketing cookies to understand how the Site is used and to measure the performance of our advertising. You can manage or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie banner on the Site or your browser settings.

8. Children's Data

Our Service is intended for use by adults, or by minors booking with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, as set out in our Terms of Use. Where a parent or guardian books on behalf of a minor, we treat the data of both the booking adult and the minor with the same care described in this policy, and limit what we collect about the minor to what is necessary to deliver the Session.

9. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, including restricted access to booking systems and secure handling of payment data by our payment processor. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data to an appropriate standard.

10. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased, in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to our processing of your data, in certain circumstances;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Automated Decision-Making

We do not use your personal data for any automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version will always be available on the Site, with the “last updated” date shown above.
